Sew Similar #17

Sew Similar #16
dress pattern fabric shoes tights sweater

This week's Sew Similar is a dress I'm actually working on right now. I'm making my Halloween costume using this same pattern, but with the planet fabric I showed you all earlier. Also, I found out that it glows in the dark and now I'm extra excited about it! For this version of the dress, I'm using a mustard yellow polka dot fabric I picked up a few months ago. Yellow is my favorite color and especially in fall I love the darker mustard hues. This ready made dress is from Le Bomb Shop on eBay, selling for $43.99. With the handmade dress and rest of the outfit, it comes to $59.84. Do you work on multiple projects at once or do you prefer to do them one at a time?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

  1. The handmade version is so much more cost-efficient, and it will last you longer! What a great project!

I like to work on one type of project at a time. Right now I'm "assembly line sewing" several blouses, but they're all different versions of the same pattern, so the steps are basically the same. Then I can sew each part of the blouses at the same time and move them all along. It works pretty well for some efficient sewing!

    1. That's such a great idea! I'm sure it's a time saver, especially if you know how the pattern fits you. I'm still a beginner so I'm a very slow seamstress.
